| Production method | It is obtained by the interaction of potassium ethyl sulfate and potassium sulfide. Refining method: Distill crude ethyl ether to obtain a product with a purity of 99.4%(mol). Products with higher purity can be refined by forming a complex with mercury chloride. The method is to add 1mol of mercury chloride into 1250mL of ethanol, then add 0.5mol of ethyl sulfide dropwise, recrystallize and refine the generated complex (C2H5)2S · 2HgCl2, add 1L of water containing 250mL of concentrated hydrochloric acid, heat and separate ethyl sulfide, and after washing with water and drying with calcium chloride, a product with a purity of 99.8%(mol) can be obtained. |
